Wellness

There is still no fountain of youth, no magic potion that can turn back the hands of time. Still, making the decision to quit smoking can certainly work some wonders to your body, mind, and overall sense of wellness.

Many of the common health problems that develop with age can be brought on prematurely - or made much worse - by smoking. The risks of heart attack and stroke skyrocket with smoking, as do the risks for several different forms of cancer. Kick a smoking habit and you immediately begin to reverse the damage you've done to your health.

You can also catch up on some of the sleep you may have missed as a side effect of smoking. Try developing a new sleep ritual, and think of a good night's sleep as just another investment in your overall wellness.

When you cut out the hazards caused by smoking, and you combine that with some smart choices about exercise, nutrition, relaxation, and stress-management, you can greatly improve your chances of living a longer, healthier life.
